The Omoye Covenant: A 10-Point Agenda for a Safer, Stronger Yagba West

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kogi State House of Assembly representing Yagba West Constituency, Hon. Adeyemi Omoniyi, popularly known as Omoye, has unveiled a comprehensive 10-point development agenda aimed at addressing key socio-economic challenges in the area.

The agenda, titled “The Omoye Covenant,” outlines policy priorities focused on security, economic growth, social welfare, youth empowerment, and accountable representation.

In a statement to constituents, Omoniyi described leadership as a responsibility rooted in service, accessibility, and impact, noting that his commitment to Yagba West predates his political ambition.

  1. Security and Community Protection:
    The candidate emphasized the need for improved security through legislative backing and partnerships to strengthen local vigilante groups and protect farms, forests, and communities.
  2. Responsible Mining and Local Economic Benefits:
    He pledged to advocate for policies that ensure mining activities in the area generate local employment, support community development, and uphold environmental standards.
  3. Support for Widows, Orphans, and Vulnerable Citizens:
    Omoniyi proposed initiatives to provide empowerment programs, scholarships, and social interventions for vulnerable groups across the constituency.
