Kogi Anti-Fraud Campaign Gains SGS and Education Ministry Support for Statewide Campus Tour
The Kogi Anti-Fraud Campaign team secures backing from the Secretary to the Government and Commissioner for Education for statewide student engagement to combat cybercrime and fraud.

The Kogi Anti-Fraud Campaign has taken a major step forward in its efforts to tackle fraud and cybercrime among young people, securing high-level support from key state government offices. Over two days of strategic stakeholder engagements, the campaign team met with the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State and the Commissioner for Education, cementing collaboration for its upcoming statewide campus and school awareness tour.
SGS Office Backs Anti-Fraud Initiative
On April 1, 2026, the campaign delegation paid a courtesy visit to Pastor (Mrs) Folashade Arike Ayoade, Ph.D., Secretary to the Government of Kogi State. The team, led by Hon. Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Fraud and Internet Matters, provided a comprehensive briefing on the objectives and structure of the Kogi Anti-Fraud Campaign.
The initiative is aimed at educating students and young people on fraud prevention, cybercrime awareness, responsible use of digital platforms, and the legal consequences of internet-related offences.
In her response, Dr. Ayoade commended the campaign and pledged full support for its implementation. She stressed the importance of sustained awareness at grassroots levels, highlighting early engagement with youth as key to instilling positive values and reducing the allure of fraudulent activities. She also urged the campaign team to collaborate closely with relevant government agencies and educational institutions to ensure maximum reach and impact.
Closing remarks were delivered by Hon. Clement Daudu, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Private Education Institutions, and Hon. Munirat Bint Ibrahim, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Entrepreneurship, who expressed appreciation to the Secretary for her endorsement and emphasized the importance of the campaign in curbing internet fraud across Kogi State.
Also present at the meeting were Hon. Helen Aderibigbe, Ph.D., Commissioner for Science and Innovation, and Hon. Femi Esemikose, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters (SGS Office).
Ministry of Education Commits Support
The following day, April 2, 2026, the campaign team engaged Hon. Wemi Jones, Commissioner for Education, to secure the Ministry’s partnership in rolling out the campaign across secondary and tertiary institutions.
During the meeting, the campaign team outlined strategies for structured awareness programs targeting students, stressing the role of the education sector in shaping young people’s orientation and preventing involvement in fraudulent practices. Hon. Eleta highlighted that the campaign would proceed to schools across the state immediately after stakeholder consultations.
Hon. Jones welcomed the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. He pledged full cooperation and advised that particular attention be given to secondary schools, where early engagement is likely to produce long-lasting positive results.
Hon. Daudu and Hon. Bint Ibrahim commended the Commissioner for his proactive stance and openness to initiatives that enhance student development.
