The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled 11 members over alleged breaches of its constitution and internal regulations, in a decisive move aimed at reinforcing party discipline.
The decision was reached during the partyโs National Convention held on April 14, 2026, in Abuja, where delegates adopted a disciplinary motion targeting individuals accused of actions deemed inconsistent with the partyโs values and framework.
Party Lists Affected Members
Among those affected are Hon. Leke Abejide, Nafiu Bala (Gombe), Kingsley Temitope Ogga, Don Norman Obinna, Kennedy Odion, Clement Ehigiator, Stella Chukwuma, Patrick Ambut, Johny Tovie Derek, Duke Dick, and Elias Adikwu.
In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party confirmed that the expulsions take immediate effect, effectively terminating the individualsโ membership.
Convention Resolution and Leadership Backing
The party explained that the action followed the formal consideration and ratification of a motion on discipline by convention delegates. The process was conducted under the leadership of the partyโs National Chairman, David Mark.
According to the statement, the convention reaffirmed the ADCโs internal mechanisms for addressing misconduct and ensuring compliance with its guiding principles.
Expelled Members Free to Join Other Parties
The ADC clarified that the affected individuals are now at liberty to align with any political platform of their choice, noting that other parties are free to admit them if they so wish.
The development underscores ongoing realignments within Nigeriaโs political landscape as parties intensify internal restructuring ahead of future electoral cycles.

Reiterating its stance, the party emphasized its commitment to discipline, internal democracy, and adherence to the rule of law. It maintained that the enforcement of its disciplinary code is central to strengthening its credibility as a political alternative.
The ADC added that it would continue to uphold accountability and transparency as it seeks to consolidate its position within the countryโs evolving political space.
