2027: Abejide to Launch AKA for Tinubu, Targets 1.5 Million Votes

KANO — Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide, is set to launch a political support organisation in Kano State, with a target of mobilising 1.5 million votes among non-indigene residents for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The organisation, known as Asiwaju Kano for Asiwaju Jagaban (AKA), is expected to establish a coordinated grassroots structure across the 44 local government areas of Kano State through the inauguration of local government coordinators.
The launch and inauguration ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at Hilton Palace Congress Hall, Kano, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
In a statement announcing the event, the organisation’s State Coordinator, Hon. Seyi Olorunsola, said the ceremony would mark the commencement of a new phase in the group’s mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to the organisers, AKA is being established as a structured platform to mobilise support for President Tinubu and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State.
The group said its target of 1.5 million votes would focus particularly on non-indigene communities resident in the state, as part of efforts to strengthen the President’s support base ahead of the next presidential election.
Under Abejide’s leadership, the organisation plans to develop a statewide network with clearly defined responsibilities, administrative structures and reporting arrangements to coordinate its activities across the 44 local government areas.
The planned inauguration is expected to formalise the group’s leadership structure, with appointed coordinators scheduled to receive certificates of appointment and take an oath of commitment before their formal introduction as representatives of the organisation in their respective local government areas.
Goodwill messages from invited dignitaries and political stakeholders are also expected during the ceremony.
The organisers said the movement would be guided by structured leadership, accountability and community engagement, while encouraging peaceful participation in the democratic process.
The launch will be held under the theme, “One Vision. One Mission. One Asiwaju,” and is expected to attract community representatives, APC officials and other political stakeholders from across Kano State.
Abejide, who represents Yagba Federal Constituency of Kogi State in the House of Representatives, has maintained political and community ties with Kano, where the proposed organisation intends to build its grassroots support network.
The planned launch is expected to provide a formal platform for the coordination of the group’s activities as political preparations gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
